I finished my monstrous project, but cannot publish images of it yet. Here's a teaser of the back.

Finished hand quilting my Captain Aust block. The dark gray rayon thread looks very shiny in this photo. Still needs binding, sleeve and label.

I turned a study for a quilt into a SAQA auction donation.

And I started a couple of new projects, but I'll have to post those later!

Of course, I brought handwork.

Amalia came by with her family for a visit.

I have had a great Mother's Day (and weekend before my 40th birthday) weekend.

My sister, brother-in-law and niece surprised me with a visit!

Lorna went with me to the Tarnish reception Friday night.

My SAQA Regional co-rep Amalia Morusiewicz and I pose in front of juror Diedre Adams' gorgeous quilt.
The show is amazing, and I feel so honored to be included in my first SAQA exhibition alongside such amazing artists.

My niece Charlotte helps me with my hand applique. Passing the traditions on to the next generation!

May 4, 2014

I've spent the last four days at the conference for Studio Art Quilt Associates. I had an amazing, whirlwind tour of the cream of the crop of the art quilting world.

Sheila Frampton Cooper

I met so many amazing people, and learned so much about textile history and the future of fiber art, photographing my work, and many other topics. My brain hurts from so much learning and communion with other artists.
