September 14, 2014

It's been almost a month since I blogged. I have to get back into the rhythm, I've been sick and travelling and sick and travelling.....

Whilst travelling I finished this block from Baltimore Garden.

I've started my next block, with some female cardinals! It was a challenge finding the right fabric in my stash.

I'm still doing this...

We have officially reached "I could never see another tomato and it would be too soon" season.

I've been working on another hand applique project as well, with a deadline in February 2015.

pinning the design in place, and basting

my trusty companions, and hand basting supplies

all the straight lines are appliqued on

these circles will be embellished, then appliqued on to the base

July 3, 2014

I stay very busy this time of year doing this:

I have started listening to craftsy videos while I process vegetables. Hey, I'm the queen of multi-tasking. Our tiny garden makes a ridiculous amount of food. Next week, I'll be making pickles, since I have cucumbers coming out my ears.

I spent the weekend making  two baby quilts. So many babies on the way!

I made miles of binding. At least it felt like miles.

I'm almost finished with my submission to What's for Dinner? at Houston.

Yesterday, I got the most amazing news about my piece It's Not the House, which I submitted to the HOME competition at Houston. It got in!!!!!! I'm still in shock. In shock, I tell you.

Can't post photos of those quilts  yet, though.

February 1, 2014

Made a leek and cheese tart and my first kale salad. Really delish!

I also made a portfolio for holding my completed hand applique blocks. I  used a sample I made a few years ago as the main design for the front.

I pieced the inside from scraps.  The inside is foam core. I added some ribbons for carrying handles.

The back:

My orphans are still waiting patiently on the design wall.I pieced a few small ones into larger blocks and added sashing to a few.  Maybe over the long weekend I'll get it put together.

Still using up tomatoes from our garden.

Taking photos in a friend's garden.
